The sides and back of all Martin X-Series models are made of HPL (high pressure laminate). This sustainable material is artificially produced by gluing several layers of a special paper with a synthetic resin under high pressure. The resulting material has excellent sound characteristics and is extremely stable. Together with its low cost, this makes HPL the perfect material for Martin's entry-level models, which is why it has been used by Martin since the nineties.

Now, for 2024, the X-Series has been completely overhauled by the Martin specialists! For the printing of these guitars, the most spectacular wood samples from the Martin stock were professionally photographed.

Furthermore, all X-Series models that are equipped with a pickup ex works are now equipped with a Martin E-1 system.
Another change in all new X-Series models is an improvement in playability. The fingerboard is thinner, the fingerboard edges are gently rounded and the string spacing is optimized; the bridge cut has been modernized for a smooth, comfortable playing experience.

This guitar stands out from the revised X-Series models. While the sides and back are made of HPL in a beautiful Ziricote look, the top is made of solid Sapele, which not only gives it a very unique look, but also a more compact, centered sound.
In keeping with its X2 breeding, the neck, fingerboard and bridge of the GPC-X2E Ziricote are made of selected hardwoods.
The Martin E-1 system completes the package.
