The developers are always particularly concerned with a fine sound. With the aim of reproducing excellent sound from small enclosures, they rely primarily on Class AB amplifiers. In terms of sound, this technology is still superior to amplifiers with Class D.

Thanks to the two new Ruark neodymium NS+ loudspeakers developed in-house, the new R2 has an even better stereo image with a comparatively wide and deep sound stage. This is despite the fact that the R2 is a compact all-in-one device.

Thanks to its new, elegant proportions and particularly slim silhouette, the R2 can be placed almost anywhere in the home. With a depth of just 15 cm and a width of 34 cm, it can even be placed on small surfaces such as a windowsill or bookshelf. The design of the R2 is timeless, elegant and totally on trend. The housing with the front grill made of real wood (walnut or ash) has soft contours and precise lines, creating a nostalgic yet timelessly modern impression.

The new TFT color display made of real glass clearly shows the time, alarm and program information, including stations and album covers. The brightness is automatically adjusted by an integrated sensor. With the patented Roto-Dial control on the top, the R2 is unmistakably a Ruark Audio. The high-quality finish rounds off the overall picture.

As a modern music system, the R2 is equipped with the latest generation of Internet radio and DAB+/UKW. It also supports the most important streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer. Thanks to the first-class Bluetooth 5.0, music can also be received in the highest quality from a smartphone or tablet.

The R2 MK4 also has a modern USB-C port with play and charge function (e.g. cell phone can be charged). In addition, other devices can be connected at the rear via a line with a cable.

Of course, like all Ruark Audio devices, the R2 MK3 also has two alarms with various individually adjustable alarm functions and a sleep timer. The device is controlled directly on the device using the control element that is typical of Ruark Audio, the so-called RotoDial, which is located on the top. It combines all the relevant control elements in the form of a circle.

The R2 MK4 now also has a remote control. Now you can conveniently carry out all functions remotely. The remote control also has 4 practical station presets for direct selection of your favorite radio stations (4 Internet / 4 DAB+ / 4 FM).

Alternatively, it is also possible to operate the R2 remotely using an app (UNDOK) with your smartphone or tablet.

Ruark Audio has incorporated many ideas, wishes and suggestions for improvement from its customers with the new R2 MK4 and hopes to exceed these with the new model.
