Puccini For Cello

Some of the most famous numbers from Puccini's works, suitable for both professional musicians and students, have been arranged for cello and piano by Giacomo Fossa, with the soloist's text adapted by Sandro Laffranchini, first cellist of the Teatro alla Scala orchestra. The selection covers Puccini's entire creative range, from his first great success with Manon Lescaut to La bohème, from Tosca to Madama Butterfly, ending with the experimental works La fanciulla del West and Turandot, the composer's last masterpiece. These aria transcriptions are joined by two genuine rarities from the oeuvre of the maestro from Lucca: his youthful Salve Regina and his Calmo e molto lento.
