Thomastik single string 1st E-MI Violin Dominant Pro

The bare Dominant Pro E-string DP01 (diameter 0.265mm, 8.0kg, ball end removable) with a carbon steel core is tin-plated on the outside. Between the outer tin layer and the steel core there is a protective layer of nickel to increase the corrosion resistance compared to conventional tin-coated strings.

Immediately after winding, the Dominant Pro strings sound bell-like and full of space. For the first three to five hours of play, the strings feel a touch softer and sound slightly warmer than they will for the rest of their life. Then the string opens up, sounds more brilliant and open and feels a little tighter under the fingers. In the last third of the strings' life, the bell-like feeling of sound space becomes somewhat less, they sound more direct - from this point onwards, the sound character of the strings hardly changes.
