Dvorak Terzetto C major op 74

Description
We owe the Terzetto op. 74, composed in 1887, to Dvořák's spontaneous desire to play music at home. Inspired by violin lessons in his neighborhood, the composer sketched four small movements in just a few days, in which two violins are accompanied by a viola. Accordingly, the Terzetto is not too demanding in terms of playing technique, but in its flowing melodies and spirited rhythms it is also the best Dvořák. No wonder that publisher Fritz Simrock immediately seized the opportunity when the composer told him in 1887 that he was working on "little bagatelles". Just how much effort can be put into such "little bagatelles" can be seen in the frequently corrected autograph score, which also served as the engraver's model for the first edition. Both sources were evaluated for the Urtext edition in order to offer today's players an authentic text of this musical gem.
