Merikanto Fünf Orgeltranskriptionen

After studying in Leipzig, the Finnish composer and organist Oskar Merikanto worked on the country's largest organ, the newly built Walcker organ in the New Church in Helsinki. He was particularly well known for the first major Finnish national opera, which he composed, as well as for his songs and piano works. With this edition, Lambert Kleesattel adds transcriptions of some of his most beautiful character pieces to his rather small organ oeuvre: well "in the fingers", these pieces have great emotional depth and expressiveness and immediately captivate the listener with their "Nordic style" both in church services and in concerts.
